A Lifelong Commitment to Knox County
Scott Zimmerman is a pillar of dedication and community spirit in Knox County. A lifetime resident, his roots run as deep as the very trees in Ariel-Foundation Park, and his commitment to our county is as steadfast as the historic streets of Mount Vernon. In addition to his significant chapter of 13 years at the Mount Vernon Developmental Center, Scott has also played a pivotal role in Mount Vernon, overseeing various projects and managing parks, public buildings, lands, the cemetery, and the aquatic complex. This experience further exemplifies his ability to lead and enhance community spaces, contributing to the well-being and upliftment of Knox County's residents. His life story is woven into the fabric of our community, where he has passionately served the public for over 30 years, consistently highlighting his dedication to Knox County's most vulnerable citizens and its cherished public spaces.
Family Values and Service
Scott's personal life reflects the enduring values that define Knox County. Alongside his wife Julie, with whom he has been married for 38 years, Scott has built a foundation of love, resilience, and shared purpose. Together, they've cultivated a home where integrity, service, community, and strong faith are ideals and a way of life. As a devoted and lifelong member of his local Christian church, Scott's deep-rooted faith in Christian values and principles has guided his life and community involvement.
Their son, Zach, a proud member of the United States Navy, carries forward the family's legacy of service and faith. Zach and his wife, Kristin, are raising their daughters, Taylor and Sutton, instilling in them the same sense of duty, devotion, and commitment to faith that is the hallmark of the Zimmerman family. Scott's role as a husband, father, and grandfather, intertwined with his dedication as a man of faith, is his most cherished responsibility, informing and inspiring his vision for Knox County.
